AES Colorado Power Project was a proposed coal-fired power plant to be built in Colorado. In November 2006, AES applied with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to build a 640 megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Washington County, west of Akron, Colorado. On January 10, 2008, AES withdrew its application to build the plant.[1]
