The American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) describes itself as "the national trade association representing apparel, footwear and other sewn products companies, and their suppliers, which compete in the global market."[1]

In February 2009 AAFA launched a front group[2], the Coalition for Safe and Affordable Childrenswear[3] The media contact for the group is Trey Ditto, an Associate Vice President at Rubenstein Associates, a New York PR firm.
