Association with Philip Morris

On Thursday, December 2, 1999, AJC gave its "Hillel Community Service Award" to Philip Morris CEO Geoffrey Bible, bestowing the award at an AJC dinner. In his remarks accepting the reward, Bible praised AJC for its efforts to advance civil rights and "wipe out discrimination," and took the opportunity to promote PM's corporate philanthropy, and domestic violence public relations campaigns. Philip Morris made a donation of $25,000 to AJC in honor of the event. AJC gratefully accepted the check.[2][3] [4]

Personnel

"Jack Rosen, a frequent past contributor to the Democratic Party, and president of the liberal-leaning American Jewish Congress, has given $100,000 to Republicans since Bush took office." [5]
