Anthony T. Podesta

Anthony T. Podesta is Co-Chairman of PodestaMattoon and a member of the Board of Advisors for Grassroots Enterprise, Inc.. His brother is John D. Podesta, the former White House chief of staff under Bill Clinton. According to the Grassroots website:[1]

Podesta has worked for years in both the public interest and political communities. In 1992, Podesta served as a member of President William Jefferson Clinton's transition team. He now serves on several committees and boards in Washington, D.C., and has been named one of the capital's top 20 lobbyists by Washingtonian magazine.
Podesta is founding president of the national civil liberties organization, People for the American Way, which he built into a grassroots political force with nearly 300,000 members. His public service includes counsel to Senator Edward M. Kennedy and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
Podesta's degrees include a bachelor of arts with honors from the University of Illinois, a master of arts from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.

Political Campaigns

In July 2006, Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell announced that Tony Podesta had been hired as the coordinator of his re-election campaign. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that he would be wearing several hats in the 2006 campaign season: "Podesta, who headed the Pennsylvania campaigns of President Bill Clinton in 1996 and U.S. Sen. John Kerry in 2004, will also help coordinate efforts to get Democrats elected to seats in the state legislature and the U.S. Congress."
