Atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations commonly refers to the six main greenhouse gases which are included in the Kyoto Protocol.
The main greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide, which in 2008 reached a global average of 384.9 parts per million (ppm) in the atmosphere, up 2.2 ppm on 2007 according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) .[1]
