The Ballistic Missile Defense Advisory Committee advises the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), which "evaluates and manages technology development and transition through the use of TRLs to ensure that technology is matured and tested before transition to systems acquisition. Throughout the acquisition life cycle, the BMDO Chief Scientist provides technical advice to the MDAPs and conducts technology assessments at milestone reviews to determine technology maturity prior to transition."[1]
