Bob Barr
Bob Barr, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia's 7th District who was defeated in the 2002 primary, announced December 15, 2006, that he has left the Republican Party and become a Libertarian. [1]
On April 5, 2008, in an address before the Heartland Libertarian Conference, Bob Barr announced he had formed a Presidential Exploratory Committee to look into his possible campaign to be The Libertarian Presidential Candidate in 2008. [1]
On May 25, 2008, Rep. Barr secured the Presidential nomination of the Libertarian Party at their convention in Denver, CO [2]
