Boi-Tia Stevens

Ms. Boi-Tia Stevens "is a Senior Advocacy Officer at the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights. She is responsible for providing support to the 2007 laureate, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdallah of Sudan in advocating for adequate protection for the civilian population of Darfur and for seeking sustainable peace in Darfur. She is also responsible for providing support to the 2008 laureate, Aminatou Haidar in promoting the civil and political rights of the Sahrawi people of Western Sahara.

"Ms. Stevens has worked extensively in the central, eastern and western parts of Africa in the areas of capacity building, rule of law and transitional justice. Prior to joining the RFK Center, she worked as a Consultant for the World Bank Group. She has also worked for the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Special Court for Sierra Leone.

"Ms. Stevens holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Kalamazoo College in Michigan and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa in Iowa. She also holds a Masters of Law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C.

"She speaks French and some of the local dialects spoken in West Africa."
