The Brattle Group describes itself as a firm providing "consulting and expert testimony in economics, finance, and regulation to corporations, law firms, and governments around the world." It was founded in 1990, and as of 2008 has three U.S. offices - Boston, San Francisco and Washington D.C and one in each of London and Brussels. It particular focus is on energy, finance, and competition policy.[1]

History

On its website the firm states that it began in Boston in 1990, opened its Washington D.C. office and in 1995 merged with Incentives Research "to strengthen its expertise in energy matters". The following year it opene an office in Washington D.C. to "focus on our expertise in regulation, antitrust, and public policy." In 1997 it opened a London office "to assist clients with the economic liberalization of regulated industries occurring throughout Europe and Asia" and opened a San Francisco office in 2002 to "be closer to our litigation and utility clients on the West Coast and in the Pacific Rim." The Brussells office was opened in 2005 "to expand our presence in competition and regulation." It now employs approximately 200 people.[1]

Clients

The firm's website does not list names of clients, but states that it works for "public and privately held companies, law firms, and industry organizations," and well as "U.S. and international regulatory and government agencies." [2]

Public relations

The PR firm Potomac Communications Group lists Brattle as one of its clients. [3]
