Partners [2]

  • State Government: Premier Peter Beatty committed the Queensland Government to develop partnerships in Cape York. Since then the partnerships process has been well advanced.
  • Private and Philanthropic: Cape York regional organisations have been working with the private and philanthropic sectors and an interface for partnerships with these sectors has been established: Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships (IEP).
"A board comprising voluntary directors associated with The Body Shop, Westpac, Boston Consulting Group, The Myer Foundation, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Harvard Business School as well as indigenous representatives runs IEP.
  • Commonwealth Government: The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) is the lead Commonwealth agency responsible for Cape York. Again, this provides the opportunity for whole-of-government coordination between Commonwealth agencies and for negotiated partnerships.
