This article is part of the Food Rights Network, a project of the Center for Media and Democracy. Find out more here.

Toxic sludge is the growing and continuous mountain of hazardous waste produced daily by wastewater treatment plants. The sewage sludge industry has created a PR euphemism it uses in place of the words "sewage sludge": biosolids. There is also a SourceWatch Portal on Toxic Sludge.
