The Center for Respect of Life and Environment (CRLE) "was created in 1986 in response to the growing environmental crisis. Recognize the scale and dimensions of the crisis will require solutions from multiple perspectives. Believe that significant changes in both attitudes and institutions are necessary for a humane and sustainable future." [1]

The Center is an affiliate of the Humane Society of the United States.
