The Child Nutrition Foundation describes itself as "a 501(c)(3) organization, focuses on its comprehensive financial aid program, professional development programs, educational materials and timely research in school foodservice. These resources equip School Nutrition Association members with the tools to comply with USDA regulations, run efficient school foodservice operations and serve nutritious meals to children." [1]

Funding

The Foundation accepts corporate contributions. A "Premier Program Donor" are those companies that "contribute $100,000 or more per year" while a "Major Program Donor" are those companies that "contribute $25,000-$99,999 per year to the Foundation." [2]

In August 2007 "Premier Program Donors" were listed as [3]:

  • National Dairy Council, Expanding Breakfast Back Pack Brochures (Members Only); Eat Smart, Get Moving; Keys to Excellence
  • Schwan's Food Service, Schwan’s Food Service Scholarship; Global Child Nutrition Foundation; Walk Against World Hunger (Annual National Conference Event); "A Possible Dream Gala" Honoring Gene White;
