Biography
Stearns was born April 16, 1941 in Washington, D.C. He was educated at George Washington University and the University of California, Los Angeles, served in the United States Air Force, and was a businessman before entering the House.
2006 elections
In 2006, the Democrats nominated David E. Bruderly to face Stearns in his November 2006 bid for reelection. (See U.S. congressional elections in 2006) [1] Stearns retained his seat.
