The Council for Solid Waste Solutions, was a Washington D.C.-based organization that was sponsored by plastics manufacturers. It claimed that its purpose is to promote recycling of plastics products. In reality, its mission was to promote public acceptance of plastic products, many of which cannot be economically recycled. The group is now defunct.
A biographical note for the group's former President, Donald B. Shea, describes the group as being "the plastics industry’s environmental task force" which later evolved into the American Plastics Council.[1]
