Current TV, which premiered Monday, August 1, 2005, calls its programming "viewer-created content, or VC2, ... created in the Current Studio, an online extension of [its] real studios in San Francisco and LA." Current says that "Anybody can join in to produce VC2 (and get paid for it) or watch and vote for what goes on TV." [1]
