Damon Thomas

Damon Thomas is a candidate for the 2009 Hobart City Council election. Thomas was the CEO of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), the main peak body for Tasmanian business, for eight years until he stepped down in April 2009. In a media releas, the TCCI stated that after April 2009 he would "would then continue as a consultant working on the development of the Greater Hobart Chamber of Commerce."[1]

A biographical note states that "as well as being the head of the TCCI he was State Crown Solicitor, State Ombudsman and Ombudsman for local government, Health Complaints Commissioner, Freedom of Information Commissioner and Energy Ombudsman."[2]
