Dan Allen, Communications Director for House Majority Leader Thomas D. DeLay, "abruptly announced his resignation" June 15, 2005, "after months of defending his boss amid intense media scrutiny of the outspoken lawmaker," immediately sparking "speculation that he was shut out by DeLay’s closest advisers." Allen, who had taken the job with DeLay in January, told Capitol Hill reporters that he was taking "a job with Scott Howell and Co., a Republican media firm." [1]
