Biographical Details

"Daryl Hannah has been passionate and committed to practicing a low impact lifestyle for over 16 years. From her small footprint, passive and active solar home complete with gray water systems and organic garden, to being an early adaptor of bio-fuels. She has produced, hosted and shot numerous green TV appearances including pieces for CNN International and Good Morning America. Daryl has been a greening consultant for events such as the Virgin Music Festival, attended by over 150,000 people.

"Her many speaking engagements include keynote speeches at the UN Global Business Conference on the environment, the National Bio-diesel Board Conference, Natural and Organic Products Expo, LOHAS and many others.

"She’s written articles on sustainability for many magazines including Jane, Marie Claire and Veg News to name a few. She designed and films dhlovelife, her website dedicated to sharing solutions on how to live more harmoniously with the planet and all other living things. She sits on the board of the Environmental Media Association, Eco America and the Action Sports Environmental Coalition. Daryl is a documentary and narrative filmmaker, which she has both directed, written and produced. Her short, The Last Supper, won a prize at the Berlin Film Festival among others. She has acted in over forty films since the age of 11. She’s invented board games and toys, keeps bees, rescues stray animals, and loves music, hot springs, wild things and wilderness. She is the founder of the Sustainable Bio-diesel Alliance, which is a certification program for sustainably produced, harvested and produced bio-fuels. The ultimate goal is to create best practice standards for verifying that all points in the production and distribution chain are in compliance with the SBA's certification standards. " [1]
