"David Andrew Ferguson is the President of the American Conservative Student Union, and is currently a rising senior majoring in Business Management at the University of Alabama.

Ferguson is an Eagle Scout. He was chosen as a one of Alabama’s Young Heroes [1] in 2003-2004 (Article: "AHS student rescues drowning man" [2] ) and was the statewide 5A winner for the Bryant-Jordan Achievement Award. During June and July 2005, Ferguson was as a Congressional Intern for Representative Robert Aderholt of the 4th District of Alabama. Since fall 2004, he has served as Treasurer of the UA College Republicans, President & Founder of the Capstone Conservative Club, and President & Founder of the American Conservative Student Union (ACSU). Ferguson was the overall student winner for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2006, and he is a member of the National Rifle Association. Recently, David has attended Eagle Forum’s Collegians Conference, Young America’s Foundation’s National College Summer Conference, Campaign School through Campaigns and Elections Magazine, and the Leadership Institute’s Campus Leadership Program. Ferguson enjoys reading, writing, and playing sports in his free time. Some of his heroes include President Ronald Reagan, Phyllis Schlafly, and President George Washington. David plans on attending law school when he finishes his time at the University of Alabama. His political philosophy is that, “You can change the world, one liberal at a time, by promoting the free exchange of ideas and a logical thought process in valid discussions.” David Ferguson is a born leader, and he will be a valuable resource to the future of conservatism in America."
