Eastern Coalfields Limited (MCL) is a government-owned coal mining company which operates mines in West Bengal and Jharkhand.[1] ECL is a subsidiary of Coal India.[2] In 2010-11 ECL produced 30.8 million tonnes of coal. It is planning to increase production to 33 million tonnes in 2011-2012.[3]
