Eco is used as an addition or prefix to names to misdirect the attention of the public.

Example:

Ecolab, one of the biggest environmental polluters on the planet manufactures highly toxic, concentrated, synthetic, chemicals used in cleaning in hotels, hospitals, etc. It is part of German chemical company Henkel, notorious for supporting Hitler's war efforts, and likely the one experimenting in using human bodies to produce soap in Wrzeszcz (now part of Gdansk), Poland in 1944. There is nothing "eco" in Ecolab beside of misleading name.
