Edward Jay Epstein is a controversial writer who has written several books alleging deceptions by governments, including the following:

  • Lee Harvey Oswald was an agent of the Soviet KGB and did not act alone in assassinating John F. Kennedy.
  • Mikhail Gorbachev's policy of glasnost (openness) in the Soviet Union was actually a massive deception aimed at creating the appearance of reform so the USSR could obtain easy cash and credits from the west.
  • Al Qaeda operative Mohammed Atta met with an Iraqi diplomat in Prague, Czechoslovakia, several months before his participation in the terrorist attack of September 11.
