The May 2007 NETL report "Tracking New Coal-Fired Power Plants" reported that Florida Power & Light was conducting a feasibility study for an IGCC coal plant to be built in St. Lucie County, Florida.[1] However, according to the Sierra Club, the St. Lucie County Commission denied FP&L the necessary permits to build the plant in November, 2005.[2]
