Global Energy, Inc., an alternative energy company, engages in the development, construction, ownership, and operation of gasification facilities in the United States and the United Kingdom. Its gasification facilities convert carbon content feedstocks, such as coal, petcoke, and renewables into synthetic gas, which is then converted into synthetic natural gas, electric power, hydrogen, or transportation fuels.

The company is developing three gasification projects in Lima, Ohio; West Terre Haute, Indiana; and Fife, Scotland. It also has mineral rights to approximately 452 million tons of proven and probable recoverable coal reserves in Wyoming and Indiana.

The company has strategic alliance agreement with Oxbow Carbon & Minerals LLC to provide petcoke, coal, coal fines, gob, or waste coal products to gasification projects. In addition, it has strategic alliance agreements with Shaw/Stone & Webster, Ltd.; Oxbow Carbon & Minerals LLC; HTC Purenergy; and Porvair Filtration Group, Ltd. Global Energy was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio.[1]

Power portfolio

Global Energy did not own any power plants in 2005. The Lima Energy project would be the company's first power plant.[2]
