Biographical Information

"Hüseyin Gün, Financier and Managing Director of Avicenna Capital, a privately held direct investment vehicle that invests in strategic sectors such as natural resources, financial services and energy, with particular focus in emerging and frontier markets. Gün has an Honours Degree in Genetics and is a member of the International Advisory Board of Global Strategy Forum, a leading London-based think tank. He is also a prominent member of the Leaders Group of the UK Conservative Party and a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. Gün is the former Chairman of the Advisory Board of Global Fairness Initiative in Washington, D.C., where former President Bill Clinton acted as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Gün is also the Founder Board Member of the Iraq-Britain Business Council and Founder Trustee of the Omar Al-Mukhtar Foundation for Libya. In June 2011, he published “Creating a Middle East Economic Community,” a pamphlet which argued for an economic aid plan rivalling the size of the Marshall Plan and for Turkey to take a leading role in administering the economic plan. Gün also serves on HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal’s WANA Forum Advisory Council (www.wanaforum.org). "[1]
