Biography

"Harlan B. Korenvaes is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and Senior Managing Director of Korenvaes Management, LLC, a SEC registered investment adviser in Dallas. He also is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Korenvaes Capital Management LP, his family investment management company. Korenvaes Capital invests in public securities, hedge funds, and private investments, and in addition, is engaged in an advisory capacity to outside entities. Harlan is the sole founder of HBK Investments L.P., an investment firm that focuses on market-neutral, absolute return investment strategies. HBK grew to over 200 employees worldwide and over $5 billion under management prior to his retiring at the end of 2003.

"Prior to founding HBK Investments, Harlan was Managing Director for convertible arbitrage sales and trading, risk arbitrage and index arbitrage, as well as a member of the capital markets equity commitment committee at Merrill Lynch. He also previously was a partner at M.E. Goldstein & Co., a NYSE specialist firm.

"He is a Director of Children’s Medical Center Foundation and a member of the Investment Committee of Children’s Medical Center. He is a member of the Southern Methodist University Investment Committee as well as the investment committee of Greenhill School. Harlan earned a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University." [1]
