Dr. Hugo Slim is the Chief Scholar for the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue.

"Has a degree in Theology from Oxford University and a PhD in Humanitarian Ethics from Oxford Brookes University. Before joining the HD Centre, he was Reader in International Humanitarianism at Oxford Brookes University (1994-2003) where he lead the award winning Masters Programme in Humanitarian and Development Practice. Between 1983 and 1994, he worked for Save the Children UK and the UN in Morocco, Sudan, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and the Palestinian Territories, and from 1998 to 2004, he was on the Council of Oxfam GB and an International Adviser to the British Red Cross. He has published widely on the protection of civilians and other aspects of humanitarian action. He is a Patron of Merlin and an Academic Adviser to the Aegis Trust for the Prevention of Genocide."[1]
