"Ian Johnson, a UK national, was appointed as the World Bank’s Vice President for Sustainable Development (ESSD) in 1998-where he oversees the Bank’s work on environmentally and socially sustainable development, which includes the areas of environmental management, natural resource management, agriculture and rural development, social policy and post-conflict. In addition to this position, in July 2000, he was made Chairman of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research." [2]
