Jacob Smith "is the PlaceMatters-Packard Foundation Fellow. His current work involves integrating ecosystem-based management into land use planning and community development. Jacob is the founder and former Executive Director of Center for Native Ecosystems (1999-2008). He has a B.S. in Environmental Science from Oregon State University and an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Colorado. He is also the Mayor of Golden, CO, serves on the board of the Denver Regional Council of Governments, and is a Bighorn Center Public Policy Leadership Fellow. Jacob also helped found the Nooru Foundation, a family foundation focused on environmental and education issues." [1]
