James Houton is a lobbyist with Elmendorf Strategies, a Washington D.C. lobbying firm with close ties to the Democratic Party.

Working for Ameren

In 2008 and 2009 Houton worked for Elmendorf Strategies LLC on the account of the major U.S. power utility, Ameren. In 2008 Ameren paid the firm $90,000 and a further $30,000 in early 2009.[1] The registered lobbyists were Steven Elmendorf, Robert Cogorno, Kristina Kennedy and Shanti Stanton in 2008 with Barry LaSala joining the team in 2009.
