John Fessel is a 2008 Congressional candidate in the 8th District of New York(map). Fessel is running against incumbent Jerry Nadler and challenger Grace Lin. He is running his campaign as an Independent write-in(website).


Policies

A late comer to the campaign, Fessel is advocating an immediate withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as a complete end to the War On Terror. According to Fessel, the "decision is a neccessity superceding even the matter of the economy" that would "would free up hundreds of billions of dollars per year." [1]

Amongst other economic and foreign policies, Fessel advocates a repeal of the recent Economic Bailout Package, a "ban on the importing of Sweatshopped goods", an end to the Military and Prison Industrial Complexes, Reparations for Native and African Americans, and repealing "draconian legislation" including the USA Patriot Act and National Security Act[2].
