Background on Plant

Kazan Soda Elektrik and China's Tianchen Engineering Group have proposed a 782 MW power plant in Kazan for natural soda ash production. Some news sources say the plant would be natural gas,[1] and others co-generation coal.[2]

Later reports have confirmed the plant will be gas-fired.
