Keith Ashdown served as Research Director for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). "He is a nationally recognized expert in tracking political paybacks and corruption, having investigated dozens of lawmakers and administration officials. He specializes in discovering how entrenched special interests benefit from federal legislation," his CREW bio read in 2007. [1]

"Mr. Ashdown also has led numerous initiatives and campaigns to eliminate special interest giveaways and coined the phrase, 'Bridge to Nowhere,'" continued the bio. "Prior to joining CREW, he was the Vice President of Policy for Taxpayers for Common Sense, a non-partisan, national budget watchdog organization, leading its efforts on national security and earmark reform. He co-founded a Chicago-based public relations firm and has worked for several other non-profits, including a number of public health organizations. Mr. Ashdown's work has been profiled in the Anchorage Daily News and Roll Call. He received his B.A. from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada." [1]

Prior to Taxpayers for Common Sense he worked for Jeremy Rifkin's Foundation on Economic Trends.
