"Retired from the USAF where he served from 2000-2003 as CEO/Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, responsible for implementing all U.S. Air Force research, development acquisition and logistics/sustainment. General Lyles served as COO/Vice Chief of Staff of U.S. Air Force from 1999- 2000. He is also a director of General Dynamics Corporation, KBR Corp. and The Dayton Power and Light Company."[1] "He is the Chairman of the Board of the United Services Automobile Association and he was inducted into the National Academy of Engineering in 2009. He has served on the Defense Science Board in the Pentagon since 2009 and he served on the President's Intelligence Advisory Board in the White House from 2009-2013. General Lyles joined the KBR Board in November 2007 and he is a member of the Audit Committee and the Chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee." [1]

General Lester L. Lyles, (Retired), a member of the Aldridge Commission, served "in the US Air Force for more than 35 years, rising from the Air Force ROTC program to become a 4-star general, commander of the Air Force Materiel Command. The command conducts research, development, test and evaluation, and provides acquisition management and logistics support necessary to keep Air Force weapon systems at-the-ready. Lyles holds a B.S. from Howard University, Washington, D.C., and an M.S. in mathematics and nuclear engineering from New Mexico State University." [2]
