Shyaam M. Shabaka, B.Sci, M.P.H., "has been actively involved in Environmental Education, Social Justice, Sustainable Development, Public Health, and community organizing work for over three decades, both domestic and internationally, starting as a Peace Corps Volunteer for Micronesia and Nigeria. Mr. Shabaka is founder and executive director of the EcoVillage Farm Learning Center in Richmond, California, president of International Child Resource Institute (ICRI), and board member of the Ecological Farming Association. He is co-founder and former president of the Bay Area Coalition of Urban Agriculture and former president of the North Oakland Community Development Block Grant Policy. Mr. Shabaka is a native of Arkansas but is a long time resident of the San Francisco Bay Area." [1]
