Sir Richard "is Chairman of The Richard Kleinwort Consultancy Group, a global network of specialists in business consultancy, global partnering, capital access and executive search, which he founded in 2001. He has been a Director of the Steppes Travel Group since 1998 and for nearly five years was a Governor of Stowe School, where he chaired various fundraising appeals. Sir Richard joined the board of the AIM IT specialist, RDF Group plc, in February 2008 and also has a consultancy role within Kleinwort Benson Private Bank. In April 2008, he assumed the role of High Sheriff of West Sussex.

"Sir Richard began his career in the world of commercial banking, utilising his knowledge of languages with the then Banque Kleinwort Benson SA in Geneva, Banco General de Negocios in Buenos Aires and Deutsche Bank AG in Hamburg and Frankfurt. In 1989, he moved into financial public relations, co-founding Cardew & Co in 1991 and later being appointed Head of European Financial PR at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.

"Trustee to The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust, Sir Richard's philanthropic interests extend to a number of charitable organisations to whom he offers his support and enthusiasm. These include the WWF 1001 Club (Member); World Scout Foundation, Geneva (Fellow); Institution of King Edward VII Hospital, Midhurst (Member); Chichester Cathedral Millennium Endowment Trust (Vice President); and The Prince's Trust (Ambassador).

"Sir Richard is husband to Lucy and father to four children; Rufus, Tristan, Heloise and Ivo. His interests include his family, travel, gardening, farming and watching England winning any sport. They live on the family estate in Sussex where they have a large dairy herd." [1]
