Stearic Acid

Stearic Acid is a saturated fatty acid with 18 carbons and no double bonds, which is commonly notated as C18:0 or simply 18:0. It is also called octadecanoic acid. Its melting point is 70C and its boiling point is 361.6C.[1]Scientists have found that, unlike palmitic acid, stearic acid does not raise total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein (LDL).[2]
