Steve Bartlett, a former Member of Congress, is President and CEO of The Financial Services Roundtable, a peak organization for the financial services industry in the United States.

Biography

Steve Bartlett has served as President and CEO of The Financial Services Roundtable since June 1999. Previously, he served as the Mayor of Dallas, Texas (1991-95), a Member of the United States Congress (1983-91), and on the Dallas City Council (1977-81).[1]

"While in Congress, Mr. Bartlett served on the House Banking Committee and was a leader in financial modernization. He served as a Deputy Whip and was a sponsor or principal cosponsor of 18 major pieces of legislation, including the Enhanced Secondary Mortgage Market Act, FHA deregulation, Fair Labor Standards Act Reforms, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, a biographical note states.[1]

" He currently serves on the Board of Directors, and the Audit Committee, of Centene Corporation (NYSE), a St. Louis-based, $3 billion dollar revenue HMO for the Medicaid industry. Previously, Mr. Bartlett has served on the Board of Directors of IMCO Recycling, Inc. (NYSE), KB Home Corporation (NYSE), and Sun Coast Industries (NYSE). He has served on the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Board," his biographical note states.[1]

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971, later serving as adjunct professor at the LBJ school of Public Affairs.[1]
