Susan H. Fuhrman "is the 10th president of Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to this, she sherved for 11 years as dean of the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education, where she was also the George and Diane Weiss Professor of Education. She was at Rutgers's Eagleton Institute of Politics and a professor of education policy before joining the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to her deanship and teaching, Fuhrman has been chair and director of the management committee of the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) since 1985. She is editor of From the Capitol to the Classroom: Standards-Based Reform in the States (2001) and Rewards and Reform: Creating Educational Incentives that Work (1996). Fuhrman is a former vice president of the American Educational Research Association, a member of the National Coalition on Asia and International Studies in the Schools, and she serves on the board of The Fund for New Jersey. She has a B.A. and M.A. from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. from Columbia University." [1]
