Edit note

  • I removed the statement that Saunders had written for Reason -- I couldn't find any of her columns on their website.--Bob Burton 15:48, 6 August 2009 (EDT)
  • the following section was unreferenced."She also wrote editorials for the Los Angeles Daily News from 1987 to 1992.[citation needed]

Edit note 2

I could find no reference to support the statement that Saunders had written for the Discovery Institute -- all I could find was that there was one column she wrote for the SF Chronicle that was reproduced on their website.--Bob Burton 06:31, 10 August 2009 (EDT)

Response

Actually there were two, both links are under section 1.1. Both were reproduced from the SF Chronicle and mention the Discovery Institute and Wesley J. Smith (a "senior fellow on animal rights issues") at the end. One of them mentions his upcoming book on the subject.

Edit note

  • I removed the reference to "foie gras jihadists" - while that was the title on the article, we don't know that it was actually written by Saunders. It is worth noting that the term is not used in the article so it is possible that it could have been added by an editor/sub-editor.

Response

Replaced removed version under HLS/SHAC section with two sentences and a reference, referring to SHAC campaign in the DJS article

The Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) campaign was set up at the end of 1999 by a group of activists in the United Kingdom. SHAC has since become an international campaign with groups in the UK, USA, France, Holland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and many other countries who target HLS and the global corporations which support them.
