Working on the David Project

Early in 2002 a group of zionist activists sought to challenge, and even dislodge, a group of professors of Middle Eastern history and culture based at Columbia Univ. They obtained the assistance of McKinsey & Co. and:

According to a 2002 article for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, a Jewish-oriented news service, top-flight talent was brought in to advise the ICC and assemble a battle plan. "Pro-Israel professionals from the elite consulting firm McKinsey & Company offered pro-bono services," the article noted. Those professionals created a document for the ICC arguing that "the primary goal for this year should be to 'take back the campus' by influencing public opinion through lectures, the Internet and coalitions."

The outcome of this collaboration was a film called Columbia Unbecoming launched by the David Project. The launch of the film was coordinated to accompany a large media focus on the issue, statements by New York politicians, and "grassroots" pressure on the Columbia Univ. president and Board of Trustees.
