Comment on the reliability of Ryan Mauro’s reporting

I read an article by Ryan Mauro:

Muslim Enclaves U.S.A. Building the American Caliphate, One Enclave at a Time, by Ryan Mauro, FrontPage Magazine, July 9, 2010 http://www.islamist-watch.org/4404/muslim-enclaves-usa.

It is a plausible account of Mohammedan extremists trying to set up Mohammedan settlements in the US, their wacko ideology and their being supported by CAIR, Saudi Arabia and the usual suspects. So far so good.

But at the end of the article I read the following:

“The possibility that Muslim-only towns and urban enclaves could be created inside the U.S. seems like a fantasy to most Americans at the moment, but there is precedent in Europe. The French government actually has a website where it tabulates 751 "sensitive urban zones," which have been accurately described as "no-go zones." In these areas, which are mostly populated by Muslim immigrants, there is a high level of crime and hostility to any governing authority, including law enforcement. Police officers do not regularly patrol the areas and they are as close to being autonomous regions as possible without the erecting of an actual parallel government.”

I speak French fluently. I've often traveled through France and often watched French TV when I was living in Washington, DC.

Furthermore my attitude toward Islam is openly hostile. This hostility is not the fruit of ignorance nor of xenophobia, because I minored in Islamic Studies, speak Arabic, have traveled in the Muddle East, have had many Mohammedan friends, even lovers. I am cosmopolitan and open-minded. My hostility to Islam is because, after studying its history and ideology, I consider it evil, like Fascism.

Consequently I am not one to take such stories lightly. This report of Mohammedan enclaves in France troubled me greatly.

I then spent 2 h reading about the "sensitive urban zones" in France, the 2005 riots, poverty, unemployed youth, Islam, etc. My sources were the French Wikipedia, reports by French sociologists and journalists I read online, and French government web sites.

I found absolutely no confirmation of any sort that there are Muslim enclaves in France or anything resembling them in any form whatever. There are indeed many lower-class French people who are Mohammedans, but they don't constitute a Mohammedan political base. They don't see Mohammedans as essentially different from other poor people, like blacks, for example. Furthermore there is no indication that the French police fails to patrol such areas. As a matter of fact many 2005 rioters were angry at police brutality, orneriness, corruption and harassment. I recall in 2005 a TV program with the Gingrich and O’Reilly panicking about Mohammedan statelets in France, but even then I knew it was BS, because I was watching French TV.

In other words, this part is PURE LYING PROPAGANDA.

Consequently this character must be treated with extreme caution. YOU MUST DOUBLE-CHECK EVERYTHING HE SAYS.
