A more interesting question is whether Goff became an antiwar, "Bring Them Home Now!" activist before or after HIS son was deployed to Iraq.
Ah, yes, on July 3, 2003, Goff expressed his disdain for W's "Bring'em On" speech. On July 23, 2003, Goff's son Jesse received orders to ship out to Iraq. This has become a very, VERY personal issue for him. At that point, his issue was not to support and assist troops in Iraq but, rather, to bring his son home. His goal and only goal is to get US troops out of Iraq. Anything else, any other issue would appear insignificant.

Comment: After re-reading Goff's tirade against imperialist Rieckhoff, I guess we can believe that a former U.S. Army Special Forces "I did whatever the hell my government told me to do" -- particularly things that would easily make one's stomach churn -- retiree sends back that monthly retirement check and refuses to avail himself of all base privileges like the PX and Commissary at Fort Bragg. Since capitalism is so loathesome to Goff, wonder where he thinks that monthly pension check comes from. Artificial Intelligence 14:38, 6 Apr 2005 (EDT)

I am referring to: "According to the profile at Discover the Networks.org"
curious choice of source for this website... using a "database" created by david horowitz and his minions to smear and slander people, and it is used here as a basis for biographical information on stan goff? This is pretty awful to use this source... will all the biographies of leftists be similarly sourced to this?
I agree Discover the Networks is not a reliable source. Any material from there needs to be verified from other sources. Of the material cited from here some seems to be accurate while much is unsourced.
- Marxist anti-war activist (maybe but my quick scan is that Goff describes himself as influenced by Marxism along with social movements which I think is better covered in the first par where Goff is describing his own thinking)
- Speaker for Veterans Teaching Peace in Schools [2] (unreferenced)
- Member of the International Committee to Defend Slobodan Milosevic (seems to be accurate assuming that website is legitimate)
- In 1994, attempted to align himself with the pro-Socialist revolution of the Lavala Party (Fanmi Lavalas) in Haiti (unreferenced)
- Writer for The Freedom Road Socialist Organization (yes this is accurate)
- Former recruiter for the Communist Party USA [3] (this link doesn't support that specific claim - maybe he was but there is no evdience to support it).
So I'm inclined to remove the specific section and reduce it to the points that can be independently verified and incorporate them into the general profile. --Bob Burton 07:30, 9 Jun 2005 (EDT)
