Ted Evans Director of Westpac since November 2001. Chairman since 1 April 2007.

"Ted has extensive experience in the financial sector, having joined the Australian Treasury in 1969. From 1984 to 1989 he held the position of Deputy Secretary and was Secretary to the Treasury from 1993 to 2001. From 1976 to 1979 he was a member of the Australian Permanent Delegation to the OECD in Paris and, from 1989 to 1993, executive director on the Board of the International Monetary Fund, representing Australia and a number of other countries, mainly in the Asia Pacific region. He was a Director of the Reserve Bank of Australia from 1993 to 2001 and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia from 1993 to 1996." [1]
