Thomas J. Pritzker "was born and raised in Chicago. He holds a B.A. from Claremont Men’s College and an M.B.A. and J.D. from the University of Chicago. He currently resides in Chicago. Mr. Pritzker is chairman and CEO of the Pritzker Organization, a family merchant bank. He is also chairman of Global Hyatt Corporation and Marmon Group, Inc. He serves on the boards of Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD and Trans Union. He is also a founding member and chairman of the board of Bay City Capital, LLC, a merchant bank specializing in life sciences. He is a member of the Business Council, a national organization of CEOs. Outside of business, Mr. Pritzker is chairman of the board of the Art Institute of Chicago and a member of the board of the University of Chicago. He has also organized the Pritzker Neurospsychiatric Disorders Research Consortium, which involves researchers from Stanford University, the University of California at Irvine and Davis, Cornell University, and the University of Michigan. It is a collaborative effort to do research into the genetic basis of psychiatric disorders. Mr. Pritzker is also an honorary professor of history at Sichuan University in China." [1]

His father was the late Jay A. Pritzker. His wife is Margot Pritzker.
