Dr. Todung Mulya Lubis, "was born on July 4, 1949 in Muara Botung (South Tapanuli), Indonesia. He completed High School in Medan (1968), and graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, Jakarta in 1974. He also studied at the Institute of American and International Law, Dallas in 1977, Boalt Law School, University of California, Berkeley (LL.M, 1978 and SJD, 1990) and Harvard Law School (LL.M, 1988).
