Biographical Information

"Tom Mshindi is the managing director for the Nation Media Group Newspapers Division. He is a media and communications expert who has trained and worked as a journalist, a development communications specialist for the UN, and a senior media manager in Kenya and abroad. Mshindi has over twenty years of experience working in the media. He worked for the Nation Media Group in Nairobi as a journalist and rose to become the managing editor of its Kenyan Daily Nation and Ugandan NTV station; for UNICEF as an editor in New York and as the chief of communication in its Nigeria programme, its largest in Africa; and for three years as the managing director and chief executive officer of the Standard Media Group in Kenya. In addition, he was instrumental in setting up Kenya’s television station Channel 2. Mshindi also manages Lovelife Media Africa Ltd. and Words Warehouse, two firms that offer a wide range of consultancy, training and publishing services in communication strategies and management.
