Valdemar Fischer was president of Syngenta Crop Protection, Inc., circa 2009. In 2005, he was Syngenta American Chairman.[1] On December 11, 2009, Syngenta announced Fischer would be replaced by Vern Hawkins, who, at the time, was vice president of U.S. commercial operations for Syngenta Crop Protection, NAFTA region. The announcement said Fisher "decided to leave the company and return to his native Brazil after five successful years in the region. During his 24 years with Syngenta, Fischer also held a number of commercial leadership roles in Latin America. As country head of Mexico, he was instrumental in building the market leading position Syngenta holds there."[2][3]
