Volunteer Political Action Committee
Volunteer Political Action Committee (VOLPAC), chaired by Senator Bill Frist, started in 1998 with the goal of "recruiting strong Republican candidates for political office nationwide; candidates who believe in a smarter, more responsive, more effective government, not a bigger one." [1]

According to its website, in 2002, VOLPAC identified 14 incumbents who needed assistance, and supported them to the fullest; ALL 14 won. VOLPAC also identified and gave full support to 12 challengers; 8 are now serving in the U.S. Senate. And in 2004, 18 of the 22 races VOLPAC supported were victorious. [2]

According to its website, in 2005, VOLPAC "received contributions from nearly 50,000 individuals - representing every state in the country. In total, we raised a record high $3.4 million, with an average donation of just $70.00." [3]
